Deal close – Man United ready to pay £70,000 a week to secure star exit – Erik Ten Hag wants Him out of the Club by all means

Back in 2020, Manchester United paid a fee worth £39million to sign Donny van de Beek from Ajax. The Dutch international never got a fair chance at Old Trafford and is now about to leave.

According to Bild, the 26-year-old midfielder is close to joining Frankfurt on loan. The German side are looking to get an option to purchase him permanently at the end of the campaign.

The renowned German media outlet have mentioned that Donny currently earns 7 million euros a year and Man Utd are ready to pay 60% of his wages i.e. around £70,000 a week, to send him to the Bundesliga club.

As per Sky Sports journalist, Florian Plettenberg, the 19-capped international has decided to move to Frankfurt, who want to seal the deal this month to have him available at the start of next year.

In the past three years, he has only started eleven games in the Premier League for the 20-time English champions.

Donny van de Beek warmed the bench under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and must have thought he will be a starter under Erik ten Hag.

He was a key member of Ten Hag’s squad that won the domestic double in the Netherlands and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in the 2018-19 season.

However, this term, the former Eredivisie midfielder has only made two appearances in all competitions for Man Utd and featured for just 21 minutes in total.

He missed the World Cup and moving to Frankfurt may give him the chance to earn a place back in the national side.
