Deal close – Manchester United ready to agree £97.5million terms with OT star
If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United are close to signing a huge deal worth £97.5million with Marcus Rashford.
According to a story exclusively covered by The Sun, the England international is set to pen a contract that will make him earn £375,000 a week, £97.5million in the next five years.
The British news source have mentioned that at the moment, De Gea is the highest earning star at Old Trafford but United have offered him a pay cut.
If the Spanish international agrees the new deal (worth £200,000 a week) on the table then he and Rashford will basically swap salaries.
The 25-year-old England international had the best year of his career last term.
In all competitions, the versatile star found the net 30 times and also provided 11 assists in 56 appearances under Erik ten Hag.
The Three Lions attacker won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award and without a shadow of a doubt, he deserves a bumper pay rise.
On the other hand, De Gea kept the highest number of clean sheets last season but since 2018, this was his best year after several average campaigns.
Have your say – Should Man Utd make Rashford the highest paid player? Should they finally replace David De Gea at Old Trafford?
