DEAL CLOSE: ‘Ridiculous’ World Cup striker Arsenal are pushing hard to sign is now open to leaving his club
Arsenal have received a boost in their pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic, with The Times reporting that the forward is now open to leaving Juventus either in January or next summer.
The Gunners are back in the running to sign Vlahovic after losing Gabriel Jesus to a serious injury. The Brazilian is set to be out for up to three months after undergoing surgery on his knee.
Reports from Calciomercato this week claimed that Arsenal are pushing hard to sign Vlahovic. The Serbian is also wanted by Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

It was also suggested that Juventus would only consider crazy offers for the 22-year-old. In fact, £70 million was mooted as the starting point before negotiations could even begin.
Given that asking price, it is difficult to see Vlahovic leaving for the Emirates. Arsenal desperately need another striker for the time Jesus is out. But that player is unlikely to be first-choice once he returns.
So they may be reluctant to meet Juve’s demands for Vlahovic. But it does appear that the player’s stance may provide a boost for Arsenal.
The Times also reports that the Gunners want Vlahovic. But the report also suggests that the striker is open to leaving Turin in one of the next two windows.
If a deal was possible, Vlahovic would be a ‘ridiculous‘ signing for Arsenal. He has been outstanding in Serie A, particularly with Fiorentina. And he has still done well while with Juventus.
At 22, he should only get better. He would therefore, be an outstanding addition if a deal was possible.
But clearly, the player’s stance on his future is not the only hurdle Arsenal have to clear.
