DEAL CONFIRMED: Romano claims agents of ‘one of the biggest prospects’ in Europe will speak to Arsenal next week
Arsenal are finally fully up and running in the January transfer window.
The Gunners have signed Leandro Trossard and are reportedly closing in on Jakub Kiwior.
There have even been reports claiming Arsenal are trying to sign Eduardo Camavinga on loan.
He’s not the only La Liga player the Gunners are reportedly hoping to land this month.
Over the past few weeks, speculation linking Arsenal with Ivan Fresneda has intensified.
The Real Valladolid full-back has been linked with multiple clubs including Real Madrid.
Arsenal have reportedly opened talks over Fresneda, with Mikel Arteta personally speaking to him about a move.
However, the Gunners haven’t managed to make a breakthrough just yet.
Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter with the current state of play regarding Arsenal and Fresneda.
He claimed that the player’s agents will return to England next week for talks with the Gunners and Newcastle United.
Romano also suggested that any move for Fresneda rests on whether Arsenal move Cedric Soares on.
The Portugal international has been linked with fellow Premier League side Fulham.
So, the race is still very much open for Fresneda.
The teenager is a good shout for Arsenal, though he may not be a regular starter just yet.
Arsenal have Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu in their ranks, so Fresneda might be third-choice to start with.
Then again, this would enable him to get up to scratch in English football without too much pressure.
Meanwhile, Newcastle are looking for a player to deputise for Kieran Trippier.
Whichever club signs Fresneda would be getting an exciting prospect who has been tipped for a great future.
Spanish outlet AS previously deemed Fresneda ‘one of the biggest prospects in European football’.
