Deal Happening Quickly – Arsenal next transfer deal 98% COMPLETED as player spotted at the Airport, arrives for Medicals ahead of sensational January swoop with move to be made OFFICIAL in 24 Hours
Arsenal have been linked with a number of potential new signings this month.
The Gunners have been linked with a plethora of strikers, while midfielders have also been on the north London club’s radar as well.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, there’s another priority position that Arsenal will soon be looking to address.
Indeed, speaking on The Debrief, Romano stated that he’s certain that Arsenal will try to sign a new full-back this month.
Arsenal want a new full-back
Romano shared what he knows about the Gunners’ plans.
“At the moment they haven’t found a good or a normal option at the moment, all of the players they like are either very expensive or not on the market like Ivan Toney or Victor Osimhen. I am sure they will try for a full-back and I am sure they will try for a striker,” Romano said.
Do they need one?
Arsenal have had full-back issues as of late due to Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jurrien Timber’s injuries, but we can’t buy into the idea that they need to sign someone new this month.
It really won’t be long before both Zinchenko and Timber are back fit and firing, and while it isn’t an ideal situation, a new signing doesn’t seem all that necessary at this moment in time.
If Arsenal just stay patient, they’ll have their first choice options back in no time rather than wasting money on a stop-gap who may only be of use for a few weeks, if that.
It’s promising to hear that Arsenal are scouring the market for new options, but the idea that a new full-back should be the Gunners’ top priority this month just doesn’t sit right with us.
Arsenal do need new signings through the door, but we’re not sure that a new full-back should be at the top of their transfer agenda.
