DONE DEAL: Agree transfer fee to sign 10 £40m striker after Mikel Merino transfer- HERE WE GO

Arsenal are on the verge of selling Aaron Ramsdale and the Gunners already appear to have his replacement in mind ahead of the transfer deadline.

The Gunners have Premier League title hopes and that means some players are being moved on this summer.

Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham and Charlie Patino to Deportivo La Coruna are prime examples of Arsenal letting players leave for first-team action elsewhere.

More sales are coming though and Eddie Nketiah is set for Crystal Palace and Aaron Ramsdale now on the verge of leaving.

Ramsdale lost his place to David Raya early into last season and has failed to reclaim his spot in the Arsenal side.

Southampton are now set to sign Ramsdale in an £18million move which will rise to £25million if the Saints avoid relegation.

Arsenal have Aaron Ramsdale replacement in mind

Ramsdale simply had to leave Arsenal in order to play first-team football and Southampton certainly offer that prospect.

The Gunners have made Raya’s loan move permanent but will now need to sign another goalkeeper as competition for the Spaniard.

Mikel Arteta may now be tempted to sign another Spanish goalkeeper with Joan Garcia wanted.

Reports from Spain just a few days ago suggested that Arsenal were stepping up their interest in signing Garcia.

That move was dependent on Ramsdale leaving and Sky Sports now claim that Arsenal are in a ‘good position’ to sign the Spaniard.

It’s stated that Arsenal have ‘many of the details’ to sign Garcia already in place ahead of a potential move.

It certainly seems that Arsenal have picked out Garcia as the ideal signing and have been teeing up a move for whenever Ramsdale moved on.

Garcia started for Espanyol on Wednesday night, keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Atletico Madrid whilst turning in a man of the match performance having racked up seven saves.
