DONE DEAL! Arsenal long awaiting transfer target is now london to undergo his medical in order to join the London side – He will wear number 28 shirt number
Nottingham Forest finalised the €20million (£17.8m) signing of Danilo.
Danilo has signed a six-and a-half-year deal which commits him to Forest until the summer of 2029.
The 21-year-old arrived in Nottingham over the weekend, with the Premier League club having agreed a deal with Palmeiras.
Danilo has become the second Brazilian addition of the transfer window for Forest, following on from Gustavo Scarpa, his former club team-mate, who joined as a free agent in December.
“I’m really happy to be fulfilling my dream of playing in the Premier League and playing for Nottingham Forest,” said Danilo, who will wear the No 28 shirt.
“I learnt a bit about the history of the Club and saw they had won two European Cups. I spoke to Gustavo Scarpa as well, and he told me that Nottingham is a great city and Forest have a quality squad with really good staff.
“I will show a lot of determination and a strong desire to win and will always look to do my best on the pitch to achieve positive results.
“I’m excited about getting started and meeting my new team-mates.
Sporting director, Filippo Giraldi, added: “We are really happy to welcome Danilo to our club and to our city.
“He is a fantastic talent that will be a great asset for the present and the future.”
Arsenal, Chelsea and Monaco were also interested Danilo, but it is Forest who won the race to land a bright prospect.
Scarpa has already made a positive impression at Forest, again producing some bright moments in the 2-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday.
Like Scarpa, Danilo has been an integral figure at Palmeiras, making more than 130 appearances for the club since making his debut as a teenager. He played 53 times in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals.
