Manchester United are still one of the most attractive clubs in the world despite the fact that they do not offer CL football next season.

The Red Devils are linked with several top quality players and one of them is Matthijs de Ligt.

As per today’s version of Abendzeitung München, also known as AZ, the Dutch player is ‘quite willing’ to join Man Utd even though they will not take part in the Champions League in the 2024-25 campaign.

Speaking about his future, the Netherlands star stated:

“I’m relatively calm”

For now, he is focusing on the national side at the European Championships, but at the same time, his representatives have been contacted by Man United.

De Ligt was a key member of Erik ten Hag’s Ajax side that defeated Real Madrid and Juventus to reach the last four of the Champions League five years ago.

Moreover, last season, he made six appearances in the European Cup for Bayern Munich, who were defeated by eventual champions, Madrid, in the semi finals.

So, the 24-year-old knows the importance of featuring in the CL, still, as per AZ, he is willing to snub the competition to sign for Manchester United, especially for Ten Hag, who made him the captain of Ajax when he was just a teenager.

As per fussball.news, the market value of De Ligt is around £42m-£51m, whereas, Man Utd could look to do a deal for £34m plus bonuses.
