‘Don’t’: Ian Wright tries to ignore what MOTD presenter tells him about Arsenal

Ian Wright has said on Match of the Day on BBC One that he does not want to hear anything about Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal finishing in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

The Arsenal legend tried to stop MOTD presenter Mark Chapman when he mentioned a stat about the Gunners and the UEFA Champions League.

Chapman noted during MOTD on BBC One on Saturday night (October 1, 2022) that every side with 20 or more points after eight games in a Premier League season have finished in the UEFA Champions League places.

Arsenal have picked up 21 points from eight matches so far in the Premier League this season.

The Gunners are at the top of the standings at the moment.

Defending Premier League champions Manchester City are currently second with 17 points from seven matches.

Mikel Arteta’s side beat Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium in the North London derby on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal legend Wright is not getting carried away with Arsenal’s form and wants the Gunners to keep on doing what they are at the moment instead of looking too far ahead.
