Spanish champions Barcelona are keeping an eye on Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey’s future.
The Ghanaian returned to training yesterday after spending most of the last three months on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury. Arsenal fans are delighted to have him back, but his long-term future is still up in the air.

Arsenal signed Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid back in 2020 after triggering his £45 million release clause (BBC).
The Ghanaian was one of the best midfielders in La Liga at the time, and he has been incredible for Arsenal too over the years when he has been fit.
However, injuries have really troubled Partey since his move to the Emirates. The 30-year-old, who had missed just seven games in his entire career before he joined Arsenal, has been sidelined for over 65 games for club and country since.
That is a terrible record, and it is probably one of the reasons why he was heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal last summer. There are rumours about his future now as well after he entered the final 18 months of his deal this month.
AS claim there’s a big chance Partey could leave Arsenal at the end of this season, and Barcelona are ‘attentive to his situation’. But, the Catalans have a big problem.
The report claims Barca’s financial position does not allow them to spend big money in the summer. That complicates things for the Spanish champions as Arsenal are unlikely to let Partey go for a small fee.
Partey’s return is a huge boost for Arsenal
Thomas Partey’s future is an issue Arsenal will have to deal with, but that is not on the agenda until the end of the season.
The big news for Gunners fans is that the Ghanaian has returned to full training, and he is now in contention to be in the squad to take on Nottingham Forest next week.
That is a massive boost for Arsenal. Partey is arguably their best midfielder, and alongside Declan Rice, he could make the Gunners one of the strongest teams in Europe.
Arsenal will be hoping Partey can stay fit from now until the end of the season. If he does, they have every chance of going all the way in the Premier League and the Champions League.
