Erik Ten Hag is HAPPY as premier league Boss confirms he is open to letting £70M star leave club to join Man united in January in other to Salvage Man U from getting relegated
Man United are big admirers of Brighton striker sensation Evan Ferguson, sources have told Football Insider.
The Seagulls confirmed last week (10 November) that Ferguson, 19, had put pen to paper on a fresh contract running until June 2029.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (13 November) that Brighton have brought the teenager in line with other top earners at the club with his new deal.
But Man United are undeterred and continue to monitor his progress ahead of a possible swoop in the near future.
They are one of many top Premier League and European clubs considering moves for Ferguson if his meteoric rise continues.
The Red Devils chose to swoop for Denmark international Rasmus Hojlund in the summer window in an attempt to fill their striking vacancy for the years to come.
But Hojlund, who cost a reported £72million, is yet to score in nine Premier League appearances.
He has, however, notched five goals in four Champions League games and leads the scoring charts in the competition.
Meanwhile, Ferguson has dazzled fans and critics alike since his breakthrough in the 2022-23 campaign.
The Republic of Ireland international notched his first Premier League goal against Arsenal in December 2022 and has already gone on to hit 11 in the English top flight despite his tender age.
He only signed his last contract extension in March, but Brighton had always planned to reward the forward if his meteoric rise continued.
British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe is close to buying a 25% stake in Man United – a move which is expected to increase investment in the Red Devils’ first-team squad.
Ratcliffe is set to take charge of footballing operations at Old Trafford in the first stage of a phased takeover – and could place Ferguson on his wanted list.
