Euro Paper Talk: Arsenal to raid Spain for £47m striker with bargain second deal for Juventus star closing in; Man Utd target Barcelona man with £430m exit clause

Arsenal are looking to sign a Barcelona attacker, while a brilliant coup for a Juventus man also on their radar, Manchester United want to sign a teenager with a £430m release clause, while Monday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Newcastle are hoping to secure a world-class star on a free transfer.

FERRAN TORRES TOPS ARSENAL’S JANUARY WISHLIST

Arsenal are exploring a possible raid on Spain amid claims Barcelona are ready to cash in on the forward.

Torres moved to the Nou Camp in January 2021, sealing a move from Mancheter City for £47m (€55m). In that time, he has six goals and four assists in 31 LaLiga appearances.

However, he has never quite convinced Xavi in that time with the signing widely known to be one made by president Joan Laporta.

And with Xavi preferring a front three of Robert Lewandowski, Raphina and Ousmane Dembele, reports in Spain claim they are ready to cash in.

Indeed, they are seemingly seeking their £47m investment back for Torres, which has led to links to Arsenal.

The Gunners are seeking to sign a new wideman in January with Mykhaylo Mudryk their No 1 target. And while talks are progressing nicely for the Ukrainian, he may yet prove too costly.

That’s not the case with Torres, though, who does fall within their budget.

Torres can play off either wing and also centrally, which covers their demands with Gabriel Jesus facing three months out.

And the 22-year-old, who was part of Spain’s World Cup squad that crashed out in the last 16, has also worked with Mikel Arteta before at City.

As a result, the Gunners are reportedly giving serious thoughts to his signing from Barcelona.

Arsenal want Adrien Rabiot as well as Ferran Torres

Arsenal are also emerging as strong favourites to sign Adrien Rabiot, per reports in Italy.

The midfielder falls out of contract at the end of the season and has seemingly no intention of renewing his deal. Furthermore, he also recently made clear his wish to play in the Premier League.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle are among those reportedly keen – but it seems the strongest move is being made by Arsenal.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is also desperate to sign a new central midfielder in January to cover and compete with Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.

As such, Calciomercato reports that Arsenal are strongly pushing to get his signing over the line.

They report the Gunners plan to either sign Rabiot on a pre-contract agreement that will see him move on July 1. However, they want his signing wrapped up sooner. To that end, the Gunners are reportedly readying a bid of around £12m to secure his signing in the January window.

Calciomercato reporter Daniele Longo rates the chances of a deal being done, with Juve looking to cut costs amid mounting legal disputes.
