EXCL: Arsenal make move to sign Another Brighton star – after Caicedo deal fall APART – he’s ‘ready to GO’

Arsenal, Man United and Man City have joined Liverpool in registering an interest in Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources told this site on Wednesday (1 March) that Liverpool have kicked off the race for his signature – with the Seagulls willing to part with the midfielder if their £70million asking price is met.

Those close to the 24-year-old have revealed that Mac Allister is “ready to go” to a bigger club this summer – more than four years after coming to the Premier League with Brighton.

The Argentina international isn’t the only Seagulls star interesting the so-called ‘big-six’ – with Moises Caicedo publicly asking to leave the club on social media in January after bids from Chelsea and Arsenal.

There was a new twist on Friday night as Caicedo committed to a new Brighton contract, but there is a second star from the club on Arsenal’s radar.

Mac Allister could now depart the Amex Stadium when the summer window opens – just six months after he lifted the World Cup with Argentina in Qatar.

The midfielder is out of contract in June 2025 – with Brighton holding the option to extend his deal a further 12 months.

He has managed seven goals in 22 appearances across all competitions as a regular starter for Roberto De Zerbi’s side this season.

Brighton paid a reported fee of just £7million for Mac Allister in 2019 and he has grown into a key part of their side after two loan spells with Argentinos Juniors and Boca Juniors.

Arsenal lead Man City at the top of the Premier League and look set to qualify for their first Champions League campaign since the 2016-17 season.

Man United have benefitted from a turnaround under Erik ten Hag, who won the club’s first trophy for six years on Sunday (26 February) after beating Newcastle in the League Cup final.

The Red Devils also have a great chance of returning to the Champions League this season.
