‘Fantastically well’: Ian Wright wowed by one Arsenal youngster v Wolves
Ian Wright has praised Arsenal attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira on Match of the Day on BBC One for his performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home at Molineux Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The Arsenal legend believes that the 22-year-old Portuguese player did “fantastically well” for Mikel Arteta’s side against Wolves.
Arsenal won the Premier League match 2-0.
Norway international attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard scored both the goals.
Vieira provided the assist for the first goal.
IAN WRIGHT ON FABIO VIEIRA FOR ARSENAL V WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS
Wright said about Vieira: “Fabio Vieira came on and did fantastically well, came on for Xhaka, who unfortunately had to go off.”
IMPRESSIVE
In our view, Fabio Vieira played well for Arsenal against Wolverhampton Wanderers after coming on for Granit Xhaka as a substitute in the first half of the Premier League game.
The 22-year-old provided a brilliant assist for Martin Odegaard and was involved in a lot of attacking forays.
The Portuguese youngster did better in the second half than in the first period and got beyond the backline a lot more.
Vieira is not guaranteed a place in the Arsenal starting lineup right now, but he is making an impact as a substitute and is playing his role.
Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League this season.
And we think that Vieira will play his role in that quest for the Gunners.
