Manchester United are closing to in to complete the signing of Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce to improve their goal keeping department.
The 25-year-old star’s current contract with the Turkish giants will expire in 2027 and he has been earning around £23,000 a week.
According to Yagız Sabuncuoglu, the Turkish international bid farewell to Fenerbahce and is set to move to Old Trafford.
The journalist wrote on the X:
“Manchester United will pay 6 million euros to Fenerbahçe for Altay Bayındır, as well as the FIFA Solidarity Contribution, and the figure will reach 7 million euros.”
Bayindir has made 145 appearances for the Istanbul based side. In the current campaign, he featured in four games, kept two clean sheets and conceded as many goals.
However, due to uncertain future, the 5-capped international has warmed the bench in the last few fixtures
Last night, Fenerbahce defeated Twente FC 5-1 in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier and Egribayat was given the nod to start in the goal
Bayindir is expected to replace Dean Henderson as the second choice goalie at Old Trafford. Crystal Palace are in negotiations to lure the England international from the Red Devils (The Mail).
The 26-year-old has only made 29 senior appearances for Man Utd and the situation has not changed after the arrival of Onana. So, Henderson must leave to play week in and week out.
