Five Major things spotted in training today as Manchester United receive Lisandro Martinez boost to face Everton during the weekend
Manchester United return to Premier League action this weekend when they face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Many of Erik ten Hag’s players have been away on international duty over the past fortnight, representing their countries for the third time already this season. It is the final break before a hectic winter schedule that will see the Reds try and climb the table and progress into the Champions League knockout stages.
Plenty of Ten Hag’s United players have remained at Carrington over that period and those present were in training again on Wednesday as they prepare to face the Toffees. Two long-term absentees were back out on the grass, albeit with differing degrees of involvement, and there was even a serial Rugby League champion taking in the session.
Here are five things spotted by MEN Sport.
Licha’s watching brief
Lisandro Martinez was out on the grass at Carrington as he watched his teammates from the sidelines. The Argentinian is still recovering from a foot injury and is expected to be out until the new year.
Shaw with the group
Luke Shaw has been absent since August but was in full first-team training on Wednesday, improving his fitness with some shuttle runs. There is hope the left-back will be fit in time to face Everton.
