Friday Morning Deal- Sensational high-profile superstar has finally decided to join Man United after having a one-on-one talk with Erik Ten Hag- Player has just snubbed Liverpool and Chelsea as he doesn’t feel they are ready to challenge for trophies- He will be Man United 3rd summer signing
Manchester United are edging closer to an agreement with Inter Milan for goalkeeper Andre Onana. Reports claim the Red Devils have submitted a new offer and are now just £4.2million away from securing a deal.
Mason Mount became United’s first signing of the summer earlier this week. The England star joined from Chelsea for a fee of up to £60m.
He was the top midfield target for Erik ten Hag. Now attention has been turned to recruiting in goal.
Onana is No 1 goalkeeper target as United look to replace David de Gea amid his contract saga. De Gea’s exit is yet to be confirmed and talks continue despite his Old Trafford deal expiring at the end of last month.
Whatever happens with De Gea, United are looking to sign a goalkeeper. They have already seen a bid rejected by Inter for Onana but a new proposal has been made.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims the new bid in total is worth £42.7m (€50m). That includes an initial £38.5m plus a further £4.2m in add-ons – though it was later rejected the same day.
Romano says Inter value Onana at £51.3m (€60m) but an agreement could be reached at around £47m (€55m). That means United are just over £4.2m away from reaching a price that would be deemed acceptable.
Talks continue between the two clubs in order to find an agreement. But it appears United are getting ever closer to striking a deal for their second signing of the window.
Meanwhile, De Gea has posted another cryptic tweet. The Spaniard has posted a singular emoji of a man juggling on Thursday afternoon, hinting that he is weighing up his options.
United offered De Gea a new contract on reduced terms, which he accepted. But the club have since withdrawn that offer and wanted the 32-year-old to lower his wages even further.
De Gea was the longest-serving member of the United squad before his contract expired. He may well have played his final game for the club after 545 appearances across a 12-year stay.
Onana has had just one season at Inter since arriving on a free transfer from Ajax last summer. He helped the Italian side reach the Champions League final, where they were beaten by Manchester City in Istanbul.
Inter are in line to make a huge profit for the former Cameroon international. United are getting closer to getting their man.
