Friday Morning News- Man united are planning to hijack Cheslsea’s move for sensational Serie A star who is one of the ‘hottest’ young prospects in Europe currently
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Atalanta’s manager has told Sky that he hopes the club will value Rasmus Hojlund at up to a “100m fee”. This would mean a Rasmus Hojlund Manchester United move putting the club back around £86.5 million, making him one of the biggest deals of the summer. OneFootball has described the forward as a “perfect fit”, and according to David Ornstein, he has already agreed personal terms.
Rasmus Hojlund Manchester United Move Could Come at a Cost.
Why Manchester United Need Rasmus Hojlund
The leadership at Old Trafford are in dire need of a centre-forward. Following the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo to Al-Nassr in the winter, the side hasn’t had a recognised number nine outside of Wout Weghorst, whose time at the club was disappointing, to say the least. Marcus Rashford’s incredible goal tally throughout the year was a clear sign that the Red Devils were creating enough opportunities but simply needed someone in the right place to finish them off.
Atalanta seem set to charge a vast fee for their centre-forward, and for understandable reasons. Over the past few windows clubs such as Chelsea and Arsenal have been searching for a pure striker, with a majority of options being false-nines or inside forwards. Nico Jackson has solved that issue at Stamford Bridge, but with Erling Haaland’s first season at Manchester City demonstrating the power of a finisher, Erik ten Hag is likely even more hungry for a straight striker.
The fee being so large is simply a matter of demand. With very few number nines on the market at the moment, Atalanta hold all of the cards and can wait the Red Devils out. Old Trafford needs a striker for the coming season, and with relatively few options, Ten Hag’s side may have to pay up to secure their man.
