Marcus Rashford could be sold by Man United later in the summer if a box-office forward replacement joins the club.
Speaking exclusively on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the axed England star’s future is firmly up in the air.
Football Insider revealed on 4 May that Rashford could leave but the club may have difficulty in shifting him due to his high salary at Old Trafford.
The proposed deal for the club to sign Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee as a potential replacement could move Rashford closer to the exit door.
Rashford could depart Man United this summer
Football Insider revealed on 1st February 1 that Arsenal have their eye on a sensational move to bring the 26-year-old to the Emirates.
That possibility remains alive, although United will first need to secure a blue-chip replacement for Rashford.
Sources have said that United would certainly consider a “huge” offer for their academy product.
He has been axed from the England squad after a wretched 2023-24 campaign that yielded just eight goals from 43 appearances.
He ended the season on the bench and struggling to make Erik ten Hag’s starting XI.
Rashford has four years remaining on a United contract that runs until the summer of 2028 after signing an extension in July of last year.
