‘Go to Barcelona and enjoy good football’: Agent tells £35.5m forward to join Barcelona, not Arsenal – big miss for the Gunners
The agent of Brazilian star has told the forward to snub Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and join Barcelona instead.
Arsenal target Vitor Roque told to join Barcelona
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has relayed quotes from Vitor Roque’s agent, Andre Cury, saying that he would recommend the 18-year-old Athletico Paranaense forward to make the switch to Barcelona.
Arsenal are among the clubs who have been linked with the talented and promising young forward.
TEAMtalk have reported that Arsenal are making progress in their quest to sign the youngster for €40 million (£35.50 million).
Mundo Deportivo claimed in March that the Gunners have met representatives with the teenager’s representatives.
Barcelona are keen on the Brazilian, according to Sport.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked.
Tough for the Gunners
In our view, Arsenal’s quest to sign Vitor Roque has just become tougher.
If his agent is publicly urging him to move to Barcelona, then it is going to be tough for the Gunners to convince the teenager to move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
Now, of course, Barcelona will have to come up with the money for Athletico Paranaense, but they are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they will get something done.
Barcelona are doing well under head coach Xavi, and we believe that the chance to play for the Spanish legend will be too tempting for Vitor Roque.
Arsenal are going places under manager Mikel Arteta as well and could win the Premier League title this season.
However, Barcelona are a bigger and more historic club, and we believe that the youngster is likely to choose the Blaugrana if the Spanish club can satisfy the demands of Athletico Paranaense.
