The Premier League have explained the reason Arsenal’s goal was not allowed to stand against Crystal Palace.
Gabriel Martinelli thought he had got his name on the scoresheet in the 70th minute, when Jurrien crossed the ball to the Brazilian, who tapped it in.
However, VAR ruled it out as the ball was adjudged to have gone out of play.
A statement explaining the decision by the Premier League, reads: “VAR checked the referee’s call of no goal for Arsenal for offside against Timber – and established that he was in an onside position in the build-up.
“However, the VAR also determined that the ball had gone out of play in the build-up and the goal should be ruled out.”

Arsenal, who failed to capitalise on other chances of their own, later saw Jean-Philippe Mateta net the equaliser in the 83rd minute.
Arsenal led 2-1 at the break following an opener from Jakub Kiwior and Leandro Trossard, on the brink of half-time.
Eberechi Eze netted the Eagles’ goal in the first half.
A draw would still delay Liverpool’s title celebrations for at least another gameweek.
