‘Going to try’: Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus warned one Spurs player will really try to wind him up tomorrow

Charles Watts has predicted a “feisty” match-up between Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus and Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero on Saturday.

The Gunners host Spurs in a highly-anticipated North London derby in the first Premier League game back after the international break.

Arsenal sit top of the Premier League table and will hope to consolidate their place at the summit against Tottenham.

However, Spurs are just one point and two places behind the Gunners, and can leapfrog their bitter rivals with a win.

With so much at stake, build-up to the match has been intense, with pundits providing plenty of thoughts.

Watts, Goal.com’s Arsenal correspondent, spoke about the derby on his YouTube channel.

He predicted plenty of “really interesting battles” between individual players all over the pitch.

And Watts suggested that Jesus against Romero could be one of the most exciting ones.

“Jesus versus Romero,” he said on his YouTube channel. “I mean, that’s just got feisty written all over hasn’t it?

“Arsenal versus Spurs, Brazil versus Argentina. We know what Romero’s about, we know he’s going to try and wind up Jesus.

“I think that’s going to be a really interesting one to watch and to see if who can come out on top in that one.”

No better way to get the Premier League back under way

Watts is spot on – Jesus versus Romero will be an exciting battle between two players at the top of their game.

Likewise, Martin Odegaard will surely have his hands full against fellow Scandinavian Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

It promises to be an intriguing game, and with so much at stake too.

With the last international break before the World Cup now out of the way, there’s no better way to kickstart proceedings in the Premier League.
