Arsenal head into this season looking to become Premier League champions for the first time in 20 years.

The Gunners fell just short in the title race last season, and many have suggested that Arsenal’s problems were in an attacking sense.

For the third season running, Bukayo Saka was Arsenal’s top scorer in all competitions, and while that is a testament to Saka’s brilliance, it also goes to show how Arsenal don’t have that lethal number nine you need at the top level.

Speaking to the Premier League on TikTok, Gabriel Martinelli has made an interesting prediction heading into this season.

The winger was asked to guess who Arsenal’s top scorer will be this season, and he says that Gabriel Jesus will come out on top, claiming that he is an amazing player who always scores nice goals.

Martinelli discussed the £45m striker.

“Top goalscorer will be Gabi Jesus. He is an amazing player and he always scores some nice goals, that is my opinion,” Martinelli said.

If those sorts of numbers are enough to be Arsenal’s top scorer, it’s fair to say something has gone wrong.

Jesus will have to find his best form and a spell of prolonged fitness if he’s to be Arsenal’s top scorer this season.

The striker has the ability to be a star player for Arsenal this term, but he’ll have to have an uptick in form if he is going to outscore the likes of Saka, Kai Havertz and even Martin Odegaard.
