He brought out the best in me,Fans once mocked me for scoring own goals…but look at me now flourishing under Ten Hag’: Harry Maguire praises ONE Man United teammate for bringing out the best in Him

Manchester United’s attacking talents have finally kicked into gear over the last month and a half, coinciding with improved form.

The first half of this campaign was atrocious for Manchester United with the attack struggling to muster up a goal at all.

Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford plus multiple others were all in poor form which caused serious problems in the attack.

United’s goalscoring was on a level with relegation candidates and placed Erik ten Hag‘s job on thin ice.

However, since December 27th in a 3-2 win over Aston Villa, that’s all changed with the attack now the biggest strength.

Among those to benefit is the increasingly clinical Hojlund who’s scored six goals in his last seven games – a phenomenal return considering he’d not scored domestically prior.

Now he’s been praised by his teammate…

Harry Maguire praises Rasmus Hojlund
After joining in the summer, Hojlund continues to improve game-on-game, the goals don’t look like stopping anytime soon as he’s shown multiple different qualities in each of his goals.

One man who’s been discussing his views on Hojlund is Harry Maguire who’s been interviewed by Sky Sports.

“We’ve seen the talent he has and now it is really clicking for him in front of goal,” Maguire explained.

“We always knew that was going to come because he’s an exceptional talent. He’s going to be a big player for this club. I’m sure he’ll keep scoring goals and there are many more to come.

“As senior players you see a young player coming through – and he holds himself so well and so mature people don’t realise his age – but he’s come in with a big weight on his shoulders to be the main striker for Man Utd.

“He’s had to play every game because of injuries but you see in training the work he puts in, the talent he has, the physical capability to play in this league, we knew he’d be successful for this club.”

How many goals would Manchester United’s Hojlund have in Erling Haaland’s position?
One thing which is impossible to ignore when looking at Hojlund’s Premier League stats – via FotMob – is that he’s done remarkably considering the few chances he’s had this season.

Hojlund’s had just 26 shots, 13 of which have been on target, resulting in five goals thus a pretty clinical record.

Erling Haaland on the other hand gets a much larger amount of opportunities in the box. This can be seen by his FotMob stats, with 67 shots, 34 of which were on target, all while having 16 goals.

Going off the Dane’s stats this season, if he’d had the same amount of chances he’d likely be on 13 goals right now which puts into perspective how brilliant he’s doing in his debut campaign.
