‘He doesn’t have to qualities,He doesn’t deserve to be a captain’: Man united board warns Erik Ten Hag to remove Captain badge from Bruno Fernandes and give it to ONE Man u player before next game or He will be sack soon – Not Maguire

Manchester United have had nothing short of a horrendous few days.

Two 3-0 defeats suffered at the hands of Manchester City and Newcastle United means that Erik ten Hag‘s side are now in crisis mode.

There has been talk of changing the manager, the players and the captain of the side.

If the captain was to change, we think one man stands clear amid the chaos – and he didn’t even feature against the Cityzens or the Magpies.

Manchester United’s captain debate
Current captain Bruno Fernandes has come under scrutiny after the derby in particular, with former Manchester United Roy Keane making his feelings known about the Portuguese playmaker.

“Today having watched him again I would take the captaincy off him 100 per cent,” Sky Sports pundit Keane said on Super Sunday.

“I know it’s a big decision, obviously they changed the captaincy with Maguire, but Fernandes is not captain material.

“He is a talented player no doubt about it. But what I saw today – we’ve discussed many times before, it was last season at Liverpool – his whinging, his moaning and throwing his arms up in the air constantly.

So if not Fernandes, then who? United are seriously struggling for leaders in their side at the moment, however, we believe one man fits the bill perfectly.

Raphael Varane should be Manchester United’s captain
We believe the French veteran Raphael Varane should be the captain of Manchester United.

Varane has a wealth of experience, knows what it’s like to win and more importantly – is a level-headed figure at the club.

The reason we’d pick him over the likes of say Casemiro, is this calm nature he brings on the pitch.

United have played at 100mph in the past two games, and not in a good way. They’ve looked erratic, all over the place and downright sloppy.

Varane’s calming presence as captain would, hopefully, allow the other players to calm down a bit. United always feel a little more solid at the back when he features – so as captain, we reckon the team stability would increase ten-fold.

The only problem is his fitness. He is very injury-prone, which could pose an issue. However, if he’s ever available – he’s our choice for the armband, 100%.
