“He has brought that particular thing back to Arsenal… I’m sure they’ll win Premier League this season with him”: Arsenal legend names ONE thing Raheem Sterling has brought back to Arsenal as he’s confident the Gunners will win Premier League this season with such crucial thing
Arsenal have been backed to get the best out of Raheem Sterling because the environment at the club suits him much better than at Chelsea.
Sterling completed a remarkable late loan move from the Blues to Arsenal on transfer deadline day after being snubbed by Enzo Maresca. The 29-year-old forward is yet to feature for the Gunners, but could make his debut in the north London derby against Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
As exclusively reported by Mirror Football, Sterling rejected the offer of £650,000-a-week in Saudi Arabia in favour of moving to Arsenal. He formed a good relationship with Mikel Arteta when they were both at Manchester City and is delighted to be back working with the Arsenal manager.
Former Arsenal and Chelsea defender William Gallas is confident that the move will work out for all parties. “I think this can be a very good move for Raheem Sterling,” he told Prime Casino. “It looks like it will be a positive move for Arsenal, and you can see that Sterling looks really, really pleased to have joined the club.
“I’ve seen the pictures of him in training; he looks happy. He looks relaxed. His body language looks good, at Chelsea, that wasn’t the case.
“I don’t know if this is true, but I look at him, I hear the things he’s said about Arsenal since he joined, maybe he always wanted to play for the club. He’s a London boy, maybe this is the shirt that he’s always wanted.
“When I said it wouldn’t be a loss if he left Chelsea, that was fair. He didn’t show his ability at the football club. It’s simple. He has an opportunity to show people what he’s all about as a player, and perhaps working with a manager that knows him, will help him do that.
“Arsenal have got a lot of wingers, but he adds to that. They need a striker, and they didn’t get one. It would be very good news for the club and Mikel Arteta if Sterling can score goals. I’ve got a feeling that he may just do that playing for Arsenal.”
Sterling played alongside Jorginho at Chelsea – and the Italy international thinks he will fit in perfectly at Arsenal. “You know the club – especially Mikel and Edu with what they are doing – you know who they are bringing is just right, so something good is going to happen for sure,” Jorginho said.
