He is a great player on and off the pitch,His personality earns Him my respect I don’t know why He choose to join Arsenal’: Man united star Bruno Fernandez blown away by £60m Midfielder Arsenal already agreed personal terms with to sign in January
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has given his verdict on Arsenal target Joao Neves.
Fernandes plays with Neves for the Portugal national football team.
So, what has Bruno Fernandes said about Arsenal target Joao Neves? Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, Bruno Fernandes has been raving about Joao Neves, a player Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in.
United midfielder Fernandes plays with Benfica midfielder Neves for the Portugal national football team.
So, the former Sporting Lisbon star is in a great position to make a judgement on Neves, who, according to 90min, is on the radar of United and Arsenal.
90min reported this month that Premier League clubs Arsenal and United are among the clubs who have scouted the 19-year-old midfielder and have watched him closely this season.
Liverpool and Manchester City have also been linked with Neves, who plays as a central defensive midfielder for Benfica but can also operate on the right of midfield.
As you can see below, Fernandes would love to see Neves move to Old Trafford.
Neves has made eight starts and three substitute appearances in the Portuguese league this season. The teenager has scored one goal and given one assist in those games.
The midfielder made six starts and 11 substitute appearances in the league last season, scoring one goal in the process.
Joao Neves could replace Thomas Partey at Arsenal
In my view, Benfica defensive midfielder Joao Neves could replace Thomas Partey at Arsenal.
There is speculation that Partey could leave the Gunners in the middle of the season. Juventus want to sign the Ghanaian star on loan in the January transfer window.
Talks between Partey and Juventus have reportedly already taken place, so if Arsenal decide to let the former Atletico Madrid star leave, then Neves could be his replacement.
Having said that, I have to note that Benfica may not sell Neves in the January transfer window.
After all, Benfica are aiming to win the Portuguese Primeira Liga title this season.
