‘He is faster than Bukayo Saka’: Eddie Nketiah says Arsenal have a player who’s even faster than Bukayo Saka
Eddie Nketiah has named his teammate Gabriel Martinelli as the fastest player at Arsenal.
Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Nketiah was being asked a number of questions about his teammates relating to their stats on FIFA 23.
Inevitably, the striker was asked who he thought the fastest player in the squad is on FIFA, and he, wrongly, believed that Bukayo Saka was the quickest.
Nketiah was then informed that Martinelli has the highest pace rating on the game, and he ultimately agreed that the Brazilian is the fastest player in the Arsenal squad ahead of Saka.
Martinelli the quickest
Nketiah spoke about the Brazilian’s pace.
“On FIFA, which player is the fastest in the squad?” Nketiah was asked
“I think it’s Saka,” Nketiah said.
“They’ve given it Martinelli, who would you say is the fastest in the squad?” Nketiah was asked
“Martinelli would be up there, myself, I would be up there. It is over different differences you know, but I would give it to Martinelli, I would say it’s Martinelli,” Nketiah said.
Depends on distance
As Nketiah says, speed is relative here and it all depends on distance
Over 10 yards, Martinelli probably is the fastest player in this Arsenal team, but when you’re able to get into full stride, it’s hard to compete with William Sailba.
Saliba has been clocking some unbelievable speeds in the Premier League this season, and while they’re not short, sharp bursts of pace, he’s got a remarkable top speed when he gets going.
We’d certainly pay to see a race between the entire Arsenal squad, and depending on the distance it’s ran over, it would be hard to back against Martinelli in such an event.
