Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has now sent a message of support to Mohamed Elneny following his Arsenal performance last night.
Although delighted to return to the eleven, Elneny unfortunately suffered an injury set-back in the second half.
Elneny appeared to injure his hamstring when pulling up, and Mikel Arteta did then confirm his injury and one other as result of the game.
Despite this set-back, it seemed that Elneny, a hugely popular figure in the Arsenal fan base, was still in good spirits after the game.
Elneny took to Instagram today to celebrate a successful Champions League group stage and uploaded a collection of photos with the caption: “First mission accomplished.”
To which, Gabriel Martinelli then demonstrated his support for his Arsenal teammate by leaving two heart emojis on Elneny’s post.
Of course, Arsenal fans will certainly enjoy seeing this level of togetherness between their players, which will be key in achieving any of their aspirations this season.
It was a strong night for Arsenal’s ‘fringe’ players, several of whom excelled.
Elneny was strong in his minutes, as were Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson.

Following the draw, Reiss Nelson, who was widely regarded as Arsenal’s best player on the night, did actually save his praise for another performance.
And ahead of a busy festive period, Mikel Arteta will be delighted to have so many players showing good form.
Unfortunately Elneny will now join Martinelli on Arsenal’s unavailable list, although the latter should be promptly back from some illness.
After a night of little consequence, Arsenal now face some very tough tests in the weeks to come.
An impressive Brighton Hove Albion side visit the Emirates on Sunday before Arsenal then travel to Anfield the following weekend.
Moreover, those two fixtures are then followed by two home and away London derbies.
It’s a crucial period for The Gunners, who will need no further bad luck with injuries.
Arteta seemingly used last night’s ‘dead rubber’ to analyse a few different scenarios in his squad, most notably Declan Rice at centre-back and Jakub Kiwior as an inverted full-back again.
But he will surely hope that neither of these solutions will be needed in the weeks to come.
