Man United have eyes on Joshua Zirkzee, with a potential summer transfer move in the offing.

Manchester United Football Club have struggled for goals this season, with the Red Devils third-lowest scorers in the Premier League at this moment in time.

It’s an area that Erik ten Hag would love to address during the January transfer window, though that looks unlikely due to financial constraints.

Planning for the summer transfer window will now be underway, with Ten Hag no doubt talking to both INEOS and The Glazer’s about possible options. One name that has now appeared on the list is Joshua Zirkzee.

It’s Sky Sports News with the story. They state that United are ‘keen’ on signing the 22-year-old forward this summer.

Zirkzee currently plies his trade for Bologna in Serie A, with the Dutchman seemingly earning an admirer in the form of his countryman Ten Hag.

We shouldn’t be surprised to see United linked with another Dutchman. It seems to be Ten Hag’s preference, as he looks to strengthen this playing squad further.

Zirkzee has scored eight goals in sixteen games this season for Bologna as his individual stock continues to grow after some excellent form. There’s no doubt that United will not be the only interested party in the forward, so it could be pivotal to finish inside the top four, in order to have Champions League football on the table.

This could be an astute signing if the club could somehow pull it off. Having another quality option up top, alongside Rasmus Hojlund, would definitely help out on the goals front. That’s assuming Anthony Martial is indeed leaving this summer.
