Despite costing £105m this summer, Rice has quickly become a fan favourite at the Emirates with his solid performances and clear passion for the club.
It’s not just fans who are growing to love Rice either, his teammates seem to be growing to admire the midfielder too.
Speaking to the Premier League, William Saliba has touched on why he loves playing with Rice, and he says that the best thing about working with the former West Ham man is how courageous he is in the middle of the park.

The defender spoke about Rice and his bravery.
‘The best thing about Declan Rice is his courage,” Saliba said.
Defender’s dream
It must be an absolute dream to have a player like Rice in front of you as a centre-back.
As Saliba says, Rice is a very courageous player, he’ll happily jump into any challenge, and you know he’ll never sell you short and leave you exposed in order to protect himself or not put the work in.
Say what you will about Rice’s technical ability or his pricetag, he’s an absolute warrior on the pitch, and he’ll try his best not to let his teammates down.
A defender can sometimes only be as good as the protection he gets from his midfield, and, luckily, Arsenal have a player like Rice helping a player as good as Saliba, hence why the north London club have been almost impossible to break down this season.
The Gunners have one of the very best defensive units in Europe, and both of these men have played a huge part in that.
If Arsenal are to win the league this year, their defence will have been perhaps the most important aspect of their campaign.
