Furious Manchester United fans could not hold back their feelings towards Bruno Fernandes after his performance in the 0-0 Premier League draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag’s men returned to winning ways after the September international break with a well-earned 3-0 win over 10-man Southampton at the St Mary’s.

Following the Premier League win against Southampton last Saturday, Manchester United built on their momentum with the start of their Carabao Cup campaign.

The Red Devils thrashed League One side Barnsley 7-0 at Old Trafford in their third-round Carabao Cup tie on Tuesday evening.

United’s winning momentum came to a halt on Saturday with their away trip to Selhurst Park, despite producing a dominating performance against Crystal Palace.

Fernandes fails to impress for Man Utd
Manchester United failed to capitalise on their chances against Crystal Palace, with Oliver Glasner’s men able to walk away with a hard-fought point.

The Red Devils’ costly draw against Palace has left Erik ten Hag’s side with only seven points from their first five Premier League matches.

Bruno Fernandes has failed to score in the final third this season, despite picking up four assists across all competitions for United.

The 30-year-old United captain came off the bench in the midweek and picked up two assists in the 7-0 demolition against Barnsley at Old Trafford.

Man Utd fans react to Fernandes vs Palace
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, ruthlessly slammed Fernandes’ lacklustre performance against Palace.

Red Devils supporters called for United to sign another player to offer competition to Fernandes, while others criticised the Portugal midfielder for his “wasteful” display.

One X user asked: “Why have we normalised these Bruno Fernandes performances? When is it time to say enough is enough and just admit he’s horrible.”

Another argued: “Joshua Zirkzee has been one of the best players for us. Bruno Fernandes [dropped] one of the worst performances I have ever seen. Guess who he [Ten Hag] took off?”

“We need a [sic] competition for Bruno Fernandes, he’s becoming too complacent,” a third said.

Someone else commented: “Christian Eriksen might actually be a more creative 10 than Bruno Fernandes. It’s time to break the ice.”

While a fifth tweeted: “We need to talk about Bruno Fernandes. Why can’t he hold possession well? His decision-making is affecting us.”

And a sixth posted: “This was a typical Bruno Fernandes performance. None of the usual scapegoats started today, so it was easy to notice.”

“I think Bruno Fernandes needs a competitor,” another wrote.

An eighth suggested: “Not often the way but Bruno Fernandes was so wasteful today. Should have been subbed off and pushed [Christian] Erikson forward
