He is way better than Bruno Fernandez but fans are not seeing that’: Paul Scholes reveals the only Man united player who is better than Bruno Fernandez

Manchester United are starting to click.

The Red Devils have quietly put together a fantastic run of form, and many of their key players are starting to get back to their best.

Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho have been borderline unplayable as of late, while Marcus Rashford is starting to find his feet too this season

However, one player who isn’t having the desired impact just yet is Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese ace’s goal and assists numbers are way down on where they usually are, and speaking on Premier League Productions, Don Hutchison has noted that Fernandes’ form hasn’t been great as of yet.

The pundit says that he’s waiting for Fernandes to catch fire, while he also made the controversial claim that Scott McTominay is actually a better number 10 than then Man United captain.

Scott McTominay is a better number 10 than Bruno Fernandes
Hutchison shared his verdict on these two players.

“Bruno I think is the one where I’m waiting for Bruno to fire. I think Scott McTominay, in my opinion, is the better number 10. I stand by that. When he plays for himself he has great ability, he can have great ability. But when he’s in a framework in a team as a number 10, he’s the one I’m waiting for, can you start doing it, because when he does, he can be a threat,” Hutchison said.

Completely different
This is a hard debate to really touch upon.

As far as attributes you’d expect a number 10 to have go, Fernandes is way ahead of McTominay, he’s more creative, he has a better first-touch, he’s a much better passer and he’s more nimble.

However, as a goal threat, McTominay has been ahead of Fernandes this season, acting as more of a battering-ram as an advanced midfielder arriving late into the box to score goals, whereas Fernandes is much more of a string-puller.

These are two completely different players, and to compare the two is like comparing apples and oranges in a lot of ways.
