Manchester United faced off against Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium earlier this afternoon as they looked to secure a victory on the road in the Premier League. The Red Devils made a slow start to the game but managed to grab the lead in the 35th minute thanks to Matthijs de Ligt’s good header from close range. Marcus Rashford doubled Man United’s lead just six minutes later as Erik ten Hag’s men went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.

Jack Stephens was sent off by the referee in the 79th minute before Alejandro Garnacho made it 3-0 to the visitors in injury time. The contest finished with Man United earning an impressive 3-0 victory away from home.

Martinez did his fair share of defending inside his half and was good on the ball.

Dalot had a few shaky moments at the back but was lively in the opponent’s half. He ended the game with an assist to his name.

CM: Kobbie Mainoo – 7.5/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch.

CM: Christian Eriksen – 7/10

Eriksen used his experience well at times and managed to engineer a couple of inviting chances in the final third.

Diallo made a lot of decent chances for others around him and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

He was a constant menace in the final third and ended the game with an assist to his name.

Rashford had a few bright moments in the Southampton half and was responsible for doubling his team’s advantage just before the half-time break.

He was a real handful for the opposition defenders but there was no goal for him.
