‘He was brilliant,He run the show for us last night,He deserves the Man of the Match award and not Gabriel Jesus’: Martin Odegaard claims 24-year-old Arsenal player is absolutely ‘amazing’ after win over Lens
Martin Odegaard has commented on Declan Rice following the midfielder’s display for Arsenal in their emphatic Champions League win over Lens on Wednesday night.
Speaking to Hayters TV, the Arsenal captain suggested that the England international has shown his qualities in every game he has played for the club.
Any questions over whether Arsenal were right to smash their club record to sign Declan Rice in the summer have surely been put to bed.
Martin Odegaard lauds Declan Rice after Arsenal win
The 24-year-old has taken absolutely no time to settle in in Mikel Arteta’s side. He has already come up with a number of game-changing performances for the club. And he looks so comfortable in the Gunners’ midfield.
Certainly, few seem to be talking about Rice’s transfer fee any longer. And that highlights the fact that he deserves enormous praise.
His teammates are definitely aware of how good he has been since signing. Martin Odegaard lauded his performance on Wednesday as Arsenal thrashed the Ligue 1 side 6-0 in the Champions League.
“It’s brilliant. I think it’s been amazing since he came here. Every game he is showing his qualities. He is a great player and a great guy. So a great addition to the club,” he told HaytersTV.
Rivals will be worried for when everything clicks for Gunners
Arsenal are going to have a frightening partnership going once Rice and Odegaard really build that understanding. Odegaard has not been at his best this season. And yet, Arsenal find themselves top of the Premier League and cruising into the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Once everything clicks for the side, they are going to be a devastating prospect.
Arsenal have been so impressive on their Champions League return. But the fans will be hoping that they are able to go through the gears in a similar manner in the Premier League.
Certainly, with Rice in front of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, they have the spine of a team which will frighten a lot of clubs in the coming years.
