“He was the worst player at Man United but now he has changed for good…If Amorim continue benching that particular player then we’ll come to rescue him in January”: Enzo Maresca wants to sign another a very talented unused Man United’s player in January
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca had plenty of reasons to celebrate after watching his side come from behind to beat Tottenham on Sunday.
Despite falling behind to an early two-goal lead, Chelsea fought back to secure an impressive 4-3 away victory at Spurs. Jadon Sancho, Cole Palmer (two) and Enzo Fernandez were on the scoresheet for the visitors.
The Blues are up to second in the Premier League after making it four top-flight victories on the bounce.
Enzo Maresca, who’s quickly making himself a very popular Chelsea manager, has got the team moving in the right direction this season.
Chelsea internally won’t think about a title bid before March, but the questions in the media will continue to surface with how well things are going.
Enzo Maresca picks out Chelsea duo Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto
During a post-match interview, Maresca picked out Chelsea pair Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto for their individual contributions during the Spurs victory.
While Sancho tormented Spurs from the left wing and scored a stunning goal, Neto worked his socks off and looked creative from the right flank.
Maresca told BBC Radio 5 Live: “For me, the headline today is for all the team. Especially for the two wingers: Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho. They were fantastic on the ball but also off the ball they sacrificed. Today they were both fantastic.”
Many Chelsea fans think Sancho is the best winger at the club after his performance at Spurs. In fairness, the Blues are exceptionally strong in wide areas right now.
Maresca can pick any combination of Sancho, Neto, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke or Joao Felix to play on the wings.
