‘He will leave just as Xhaka did last summer to pave way for more Talents’: 25-year-old Arsenal player is now likely to push for an exit next summer after being ignored by Arteta – NOT Thomas Partey

Journalist Alex Crook has now stated that Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale is likely to push for an Arsenal exit next summer after losing his number one spot.

Crook was speaking on talkSPORT this morning and said that Ramsdale is a very ambitious character, and won’t settle for the number two position.

The journalist thought a January departure from Arsenal was unlikely, but did suggest that the goalkeeper will look to move on next summer.

Crook said (14/11 8:17am): “I feel a lot of sympathy for Aaron Ramsdale, but I think this probably ends one way now because despite what Arteta was saying at the start of the season, I don’t have a number one, they can jostle for position, it’s clear that Raya is his number one.

“I know Aaron is a very ambitious character, he wants to be at one stage the England number one.

“He’s clearly not going to do that from the Arsenal bench, so I think he’ll leave. Maybe not this transfer window, but certainly in the summer I think he’ll look for a new club.”

And given his popularity among Arsenal fans, this is unlikely to be a welcome update.

Crook says Ramsdale will push to leave Arsenal next summer
Whilst he’s had his fair share of shaky moments since arriving, David Raya did look improved against Burnley this weekend.

The goalkeeper was solid when called upon and made some very impressive saves.

And with Raya playing almost every game for Arsenal right now, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Ramsdale wanted to leave.

The £30m goalkeeper has enjoyed immense improvements since arriving from Sheffield United back in 2021.

And given he surely will have designs on being England’s number one, he can’t settle for less at his club.

Ramsdale’s performances have often been ‘brilliant’ for The Gunners, and he does seem an unfortunate victim of Raya arriving.

But if Crook’s update is to be believed, then Ramsdale will no doubt have a ton of clubs interested in his signature if he were to leave Arsenal.

Chelsea have often been linked, a move that would be hard to stomach for the Arsenal faithful.
