‘He would wish he has them’: Carragher says Klopp would especially want Arsenal duo at Liverpool right now
Jamie Carragher has said that Jurgen Klopp would be aching to have the Arsenal wing duo of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli at Liverpool.
As Mikel Arteta’s side prepare to face the Reds on Sunday, the 29-point gap between both sides reflects the gulf in class that has set in.
With Arsenal touted as hot-favourites going into their game against Liverpool at Anfield, Jamie Carragher has said Jurgen Klopp would want Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in a red shirt.
CARRAGHER SAYS KLOPP WOULD WANT SAKA AND MARTINELLI
The youthful pairing have undoubtedly been the best wide pair in the Premier League this season.
While Saka has an incredible 12 goals and 10 assists in the league this season, Martinelli has registered 13 goals and 3 assists, which just goes to show how devastating the Arsenal duo have been this campaign.
As Liverpool host Arsenal in Saturday’s much-awaited clash, Jamie Carragher has broken down why Jurgen Klopp would want both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli within his ranks.
“Jurgen Klopp has had little cause to be envious of other squads during his Liverpool reign. He does now. He must wish half of [Mikel] Arteta’s team were in his starting XI.”
“Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli bring the lightning pace and penetration that Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane introduced to Klopp’s 4-3-3 system five years ago”, he wrote in his column for the Telegraph.

It would be fair if Mohamed Salah still held the crown for being the best right-winger on the planet, considering his almost robotic consistency over the years.
But this season, Jamie Carragher is fair in suggesting that even Jurgen Klopp would side with Bukayo Saka over him, and in a similar vein, Gabriel Martinelli would also walk into the Liverpool side.
With Sadio Mane’s departure and Luis Diaz being stricken with injuries throughout most of his time at Anfield, the left-wing spot especially is one where the Arsenal wideman would be an automatic pick.
