HERE WE GO £57,000 a week German born player FINALLY agrees to join Man United before window closes – Journalist

Manchester United are in search of a back-up goal keeper and the names of Vlachodimos and Bayindir are in in the lime light,

As per Florian Plettenberg, the Red Devils have made an official offer to lure Vlachodimos on a five year contract until 2028.

The famous Sky Sports Germany journalist claims that the Benfica shot stopper has verbally agreed to join Man United.

It would take a fee of around 15 million euros to hire him from the Eagles, however, the final decision is yet to be made by Erik ten Hag.

The 29-year-old star was born in Stuttgart, Germany and joined the home town club at the age of 7. He only made three senior appearances for the side before signing for Panathinaikos in 2016.

Vlachodimos was part of the German side that won the U-21 European championships in 2017. Still, in 2018, after featuring for the Kaisers from U-15 to U-21 level, his request to play for Greece was approved by FIFA.

The same year, he moved to Benfica and thus far, the goalie has won two Liga Nos titles and two Super Cup trophies with the Portuguese giants.

Last season, the £57,000 a week star made 54 appearances in all competitions, conceded just 39 goals and kept no fewer than 28 clean sheets.

However, he is now an unwanted man in Benfica due to a breakdown in relations with manager Roger Schmidt.

Man Utd can have a highly experienced back-up goalie if they opt to sign Vlachodimos. The question is, should they instead move for a much younger option in the form of 25-year-old Bayindir?
