HERE WE GO: Arsenal completed the signing of 27yr old striker who scored 20 goals and 33 assist last season, medical set to hold soon

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been given a valuation for Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

The 27-year-old is currently serving an eight-month ban for breaching the Football Association’s gambling regulations

In May, Toney admitted to 232 breaches of the FA’s betting rules between 2017 and 2021, and he was subsequently punished with a lengthy ban and fined £50,000.

While Toney will be able to return to Brentford training in September, his eight-month suspension does not expire until January 16.

As a result, the forward has seemingly been earmarked as a potential January transfer target for some of the Premier League’s top clubs.

With a potential transfer on the horizon, the former Newcastle United striker has switched agents, signing with Jonathan Barnett’s CAA Stellar agency.

Brentford are now bracing themselves for offers and are believed to be resigned to losing Toney in 2024.

With two years left to run on the player’s contract, The Times are reporting that Brentford have set an asking price of £80m.

Arsenal are among those that have shown an interest in Toney, with Mikel Arteta still looking to sign a new central striker.

Toney recently opened the door to a move to Arsenal during an interview with Steven Bartlett on the Diary of a CEO podcast.

When asked about being a Liverpool supporter, Toney said: “Yeah, I’ve been a Liverpool fan my whole life but from young, I’ve liked Arsenal. I’ve liked watching Arsenal. I like how they play and kind of how passionate the fans are.”

The England international has also been linked with a move to Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham, who are looking to replace Harry Kane.

Toney, who has spent the last three years at Brentford, has scored 68 goals in 124 competitive appearances for the Bees.
