Here we Go – Arsenal have finally reached the light at the end of the Tunnel as documents are now prepared to be signed tomorrow, medical team on standby to welcome Arsenal new signing
The documents for premier league star exit are being prepared and will be checked by both West Ham and Arsenal in the next 24 hours, according to Fabrizio Romano.
As the deal nears completion, Romano notes that personal terms have been in place for several weeks for the West Ham captain to join the Premier League runners-up.
If the final agreements on the payment terms is accepted by both clubs, then the transfer is set to be completed.
The end in sight?
Arsenal have been the front-runners to secure Rice’s signature, and now the deal appears to be in the final stages. The Premier League’s biggest transfer story this summer looks to be ending.
Arsenal fans feared the club had slipped up in their bid to secure Rice after Treble-winning Manchester City placed a £90million bid for the Europa Conference League-winning midfielder [Sky Sports], but Pep Guardiola’s side were unwilling to exceed their valuation for the player.
Now the England international looks all but set to switch east London for north and join Mikel Arteta’s team as they hope to go one step further than last season and claim their first Premier League title since 2003/04.
Rice becomes a guaranteed starter in the midfield and will likely displace or replace Thomas Partey who has been linked to Serie A giants Juventus [TuttoJuve].
The addition of Rice to Arteta’s squad will also bolster their Champions League expectations as the Gunners enter the tournament for the first time since 2016/17.
The fee is set at £100million with £5million in add-on in a payment plan that sees Arsenal pay the transfer over the course of 18 months [Fabrizio Romano]
The Gunners will be happy to see this transfer saga not only end but end with them as the victors. The board will no-doubt focus on their other transfer targets including Ajax defender Jurrien Timber [Sky Sports].
In the meantime, Arsenal fans will be excited over the confirmation of Kai Havertz who was officially announced by the club this evening.
As for West Ham, while seeing their club captain leave, the huge boost in revenue from the sale could go a long way in securing their status as European regulars and help them in their bid to climb the Premier League table.
