HERE WE GO: Arsenal now ready to sell £50m Star who played full 90mins again Forest last week, Arteta wants to reinforce His squad for champions league

Galatasaray have reached out to Arsenal over signing Ghana international midfielder Thomas Partey before the summer transfer window shuts, according to Turkey outlet Takvim.

The Turkish Super Lig club have offered the Gunners £8.5 million to get a deal done, but the North London club want £12m.

The vice-chairman of Gala Erden Timur is in talks with Arsenal as the club are desperate to strengthen their midfield and are hoping to convince Mikel Arteta to part with Partey.

The 30-year-old was regularly linked with an Arsenal exit earlier on in the transfer window, with clubs from the Saudi Pro League and Juventus all reportedly keen.

The arrival of Declan Rice was tipped to spell the end of his time with the Gunners, but Partey has remained a key player for Arsenal, featuring against Manchester City in the Community Shield and also playing all 90 minutes against Nottingham Forest on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season as a right-back.

The former Atletico Madrid star has two more years left on his deal, and while this summer represents the best time to sell him, whether the Gunners have plans to do so remains to be seen.

Partey will struggle to start regularly in midfield this season, and while the injury to Jurrien Timber could see him get more playing time at right-back, Arteta has other options more suitable for the position.

Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and 18-year-old Reuell Walters (who impressed in a cameo against Nuremberg during pre-season) are defenders by trade and can all feature as right-back.

While the Arsenal boss claimed in July that he expects Partey to remain at the club beyond this summer, things could change if the club feels they are better off financially by selling him, or if the player decides to move where he is guaranteed a place in his favourite and natural position in the starting XI.
