HERE WE GO: Club has agreed to lower the transfer fee of 24yr top talent, paperwork being processed, Announcement tomorrow morning

Man Utd’s moves in the transfer market are not just pertinent to new signings. The Red Devils are looking to bring back a familiar face in Sofyan Amrabat to Old Trafford. The Moroccan 2022 World Cup star spent last season on loan at the club.

The Red Devils had a £16.8m buy-option on his loan deal which was valid for yesterday but the club refused to trigger it. Instead, Man Utd are still interested in the 27-year-old but want to sign him for a lesser fee.

According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Fiorentina will now look to reach an agreement of a lower fee or with any other Premier League side that the Atlas Lions star wants to join. Amrabat’s preference is to remain in the English top flight.

Man Utd are definitely the favorites in the race to sign the Moroccan international with the play breaker himself willing to remain at the club. This would give the Red Devils an upper hand in negotiations with the Viola.

Amrabat was not a regular starter in Erik ten Hag’s squad last season, starting just 17 games in the entirety of the campaign. However, he did prove his mettle towards the end of the season, even deputising at left-back in the absence of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

It makes sense that the Red Devils want to sign the 27-year-old permanently as he would be a low-cost option for the midfield. Having someone like Amrabat, with his versatility is a huge plus to any team and Erik ten Hag seems to concur.

The important thing now would be to agree to a fee with the Italian side who are clearly willing to sell. On the right terms, this is a transfer that Man Utd need to wrap up as soon as possible as this would set them up well for the rest of the transfer window, allowing them the luxury to focus on other positions.
