‘Here we go’: Fabrizio Romano has just shared exciting transfer news for Arsenal fans
Arsenal have completed the signing of Jakub Kiwior from Spezia, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners look set to make two signings at the same time, with Leandro Trossard reportedly a done deal too.
While Arsenal’s move for Trossard looked on the cards for a few days, the Kiwior move has come out of nowhere.
Romano took to Twitter on Friday afternoon to declare “here we go” on Kiwior to Arsenal.
He said the Gunners would be paying in excess of £17.5million for the 22-year-old defender, including add-ons.
Romano added that Kiwior had agreed personal terms on a five-year deal with the Gunners.
In addition, he would complete a medical in the next 48 hours, before concluding by saying “it’s done”.
Who is Jakub Kiwior?
Arsenal have been looking for a left-sided central defender to compete with Gabriel Magalhaes.
Kiwior, a versatile 6ft 2in defender, looks set to provide that competition for the Brazilian.
The 22-year-old mainly plies his trade at central defence, but can also feature at left-back and in defensive midfield.
Kiwior came through the ranks at Polish club GKS Tichy before linking up with Anderlecht’s academy in 2016.
He also played for Slovakian outfits Podbrezove and MSK Zilina before joining Spezia in 2021.
Kiwior has made 43 appearances for the Italian side, including 17 in Serie A this term.
He has also won nine caps for Poland and played at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
