HERE WE GO: Man united finally complete the signing of £60m superstar, medical will be done today as He is set to be in match day squad against Wolves next week
Joao Neves has been on the radar of Manchester United for months and with Jim Ratcliffe now part of the ownership, the Red Devils are preparing a move to finally sign him.
Back in October, O Jogo revealed the Old Trafford club are pressing to lure the Portuguese international, who is wanted by Ten Hag, from Benfica.
Since then, he has been heavily in the focus and multiple reports have linked the midfielder with the 20-time English champions.
Over the weekend, British sources (news image provided below) revealed Man Utd are preparing a ‘red-hot’ bid to finally sign Neves.
The Premier League side are ready to start talks with Benfica over the transfer of the Seleccao midfielder, who is arguably the best No.6 in the Liga Nos.
Ratcliffe is intent on strengthening the squad this year and Neves, who has a release clause of £103million, is being considered a top priority.
It is reported that Benfica, who are just a point behind leaders, Sporting CP, in the Primeira Liga table, do not want to lose their prized asset in the middle of the campaign.
This term, so far Neves has started fourteen games in the league for the Eagles and helped them keep nine clean sheets. Moreover, he has scored a goal and provided two assists as well.
Man Utd definitely need a long term replacement of Casemiro as Ten Hag is still looking for someone who can perfectly operate in the DM role like Frenkie de Jong did under him at Ajax.
In your view, should United pay £103million to finally sign Joao Neves?
