Arsenal should make an approach to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos on loan with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.
Ramos was on the radar of several elite European clubs last summer after a wonderful year where he was hugely impressive for Benfica and Portugal.
He was linked with multiple Premier League sides too but ultimately, it was Paris Saint-Germain who won the race to sign him – initially on a loan deal.
His €80 million buy clause was activated in November, but it is now reported by L’Equipe that he could head for the exit door in the current transfer window.
Les Parisiens are open to listening to reasonable offers for the 22-year-old who has fallen out-of-favour under manager Luis Enrique since December.
It is unlikely that Arsenal can afford to buy him outright with concerns over Financial Fair Play, but they could propose a loan deal with a buy clause.
The French champions may not be averse to the idea, but they may prefer a buy clause based on conditions such that he is more likely to be sold.
In that case, they would be able to use the funds in the summer to balance their books as well as focus on the purchase of another striker if Kylian Mbappe leaves.
Meanwhile, Ramos has just four goals and one assist for Paris Saint-Germain, but he has played only 888 minutes across all competitions for the capital outfit.
Last season, he was a force to reckon with at Benfica with 27 goals and 12 assists with guaranteed starts.
In our view, the Portuguese has the potential to become a world-class striker. He could get the chance to develop and prosper with assured first-team football.
We feel the Gunners should swoop for his services, but the final decision rests on the hierarchy.
