Former Chelsea player and talkSPORT pundit Didier Drogba has sung Jorginho’s praises.
Drogba has been hugely impressed with how well Jorginho has been playing recently. The legend believes that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will keep him in the team for now.
Arsenal will face Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the Premier League before the end of the season, and Clarke believes Jorginho will play in all of them.
Drogba said on talkSPORT (6:45am, 27 February 2024): “I also thought Jorginho was brilliant in the game at the weekend. He has become Mikel Arteta’s big player, and I think Arsenal’s league title prospects will be determined by how they perform at the Etihad, how they perform at Old Trafford, how they perform at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“I have a feeling that Jorginho will be called in for most of these games. I know that Thomas Partey is coming back into form, but I don’t know how you can leave Jorginho out at the moment.
“He’s doing a fantastic job in there. He adds some extra weight and experience with all these young players.”
My opinion: Jorginho can help Arsenal win the Premier League title
In my opinion, Arsenal midfielder Jorginho could be a big player for the Gunners in the coming weeks and months.
I think the former Chelsea midfielder is a player who can make a huge difference for Arsenal in the big games.
Jorginho may not start every game, but when he plays against the top teams, he makes Arsenal better. He was superb against Newcastle United.
The former Napoli star slows the game down in midfield and gives Arsenal time to regroup and “think”.
When Jorginho plays, Arsenal are calmer and more disciplined. They are not intimidated by their opponents. Kai Havertz thinks he is world class.
Jorginho has a wealth of experience. The midfielder has made 173 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. He has scored 21 goals and seven assists in those games.
