‘He’s ready’: Agent backs £17m Star for Arsenal or Liverpool move
Real Valladolid’s La Liga starlet is ‘ready’ for a big-money move as Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United express an interest, the teenager’s representatives tell TuttoJuve.
Despite only celebrating his 18th birthday in September, Fresneda is already threatening to become a regular fixture in one of Europe’s major leagues.
He’s making a real impact in his first season as a Real Valladolid starter. So much so that, according to AS, almost every European giant you could possibly think of has Fresneda on their radars heading into 2023. Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, Real Madrid and Barcelona, to name but a few.
“He’s having a great season and he has improved a lot. All the opponents find it difficult to face Fresneda,” the teen’s agent explains.
“He is strong, fast, skilled in both phases (attack and defence), and very good at providing assists to his team-mates. He is only eighteen years old, but he is already very mature for his age.”
LIVERPOOL, ARSENAL AND NEWCASTLE UNITED LIKE IVAN FRESNEDA
Last week, Valladolid director Fran Sanchez indicated that Fresneda may be sold for the right price. The Spain U19 international has a £26 million release clause in his contract. Though Calciomercato believe that offers in the region of £17 million could do the trick.
Juventus, meanwhile, reportedly see Fresneda as a potential long-term replacement for the ageing Juan Cuadrado.
“There hasn’t been any official offer. At the moment, only rumours that follow one another,” the agent adds, before insisting that Fresneda is ‘ready’ make his mark at a Champions League-level side.
“We’re talking about Juventus which, without a shadow of a doubt, is one of the most important clubs out there. But Fresneda is ready and up to par for a team like Juve.”
Fresneda is not the only Valladolid defender potentially in line for a big-money move either. Julen Lopetegui’s Wolves are reportedly tracking their one-time Real Madrid centre-back Javi Sanchez.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are also set to complete the signing of Atletico Madrid benchwarmer Matheus Cunha.
“Today I have to talk about him,” Lopetegui said on Friday. “It’s clear he (Cunha) is going to be with us. (The deal) is going to happen once the market is open. Now, he’s going to be our player. But in the next matches we have to focus on the players that are here.”
