Arsenal target Jesper Lindstrom has spoken out about the links between him and the north London club.
Speaking to Tipsbladet, Lindstrom addressed the speculation surrounding his future.
Lindstrom joined Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt last summer from Brondby.
He had a brilliant debut season in Germany, helping Frankfurt win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League.
His performances have already attracted interest from abroad, despite Lindstrom signing a five-year deal.
The attacking midfielder, who can also play on either wing, provided 14 goal contributions across all competitions last season.
He’s also recently broken into the Danish national team, and will be hoping to be on the plane to Qatar in November.
Lindstrom buzzing over Arsenal links
Reports last week suggested that Arsenal were already working on signing Lindstrom in January.
Previously likened to Jack Grealish, Lindstrom would add a new dimension to Arsenal’s attacking threat.
He would be capable of deputising for club captain Martin Odegaard in the centre of the pitch.
Lindstrom could also challenge Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka on either wing.
The Dane is confident in front of goal, but can be erratic in his shooting.
He’s also very capable of playing a killer pass, and could link up well with Arsenal’s winger when running in behind.
Lindstrom works very hard off the ball, an attribute Mikel Arteta would be very pleased with.
According to FBRef, he’s in the top 10% of attacking midfielders for pressures and interceptions.
Lindstrom: ‘I am insanely happy’
Lindstrom addressed his links to Arsenal with Tipsbladet, saying: “It is hard not to read along when articles appear on one’s Facebook, Instagram and other social media.
“So, of course I read it, but I don’t take it too seriously.
“The transfer window is not open at all right now, so I will wait to see what happens.
“It is always great to play in the biggest league in the world, but whether Arsenal suits me is difficult to say.
“Right now, I’m in a good place in Frankfurt, but it’s great that there are clubs like them that keep an eye on me.
“It may well be that something has to happen at some point, but right now I’m fine.
“It’s a huge confidence boost. It is one of the biggest things as a footballer, so of course I am insanely happy.”
