“I am proud of this five players. This is my last match with this club and they are the only players that deserves to remains at this club”-“FANS SHOCKED” as Ruud van Nistelrooy praises five “excellent” Man United players after 1-1 draw vs Chelsea.
Ruud van Nistelrooy commended five “excellent” Manchester United players after their 1-1 draw with Chelsea over the weekend.
United managed to secure a point at home, having initially taken the lead with 20 minutes remaining when Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty following a foul on Rasmus Højlund. However, Chelsea equalized just five minutes later. United’s struggles continue in the Premier League, where they sit 13th after ten games with only 12 points.
Despite this, Van Nistelrooy found positives in the team’s performance, especially considering Chelsea’s strong form and the challenges United currently face. He singled out five players for their solid performances, particularly in defense and midfield.
“From the back, center, Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs De Ligt did a great job,” Van Nistelrooy told Sky Sports, praising their crucial roles in neutralizing Chelsea’s attack.
Mazraoui especially excelled, earning the Man of the Match award. However, the front three struggled to create opportunities, and United appeared lackluster in attack. Marcus Rashford started strongly but diminished in effectiveness after switching wings with Alejandro Garnacho—a move by Van Nistelrooy that raised some eyebrows.
Incoming head coach Ruben Amorim will have many issues to address upon his arrival at Old Trafford, with improving goal-scoring likely at the top of his agenda.
